INTRODUCING BING CONCERT HALL

Bing Concert Hall is transforming the practice, study, and experience of the performing arts on the Stanford campus.

360° Intimacy

Bing Concert Hall’s 842 seats are arranged in a “vineyard” format, with seating sections ringing the stage. What’s more, the center-section seating begins on the same level as the stage. The result is a concert experience of unparalleled intimacy, offering exquisite sightlines from all angles and a rare conjoining of artists and audience.

A Nexus of Campus & Community

The hall and its 2,300-sq. ft. studio facilitate the practice, teaching, and study of the performing arts, integrating performance and curriculum for students while engaging with the Bay Area community.

Architects & Acoustics

Bing Concert Hall is designed by Richard Olcott of Ennead Architects, the internationally acclaimed architecture firm whose award-winning work includes many renowned performing arts venues including Zankel Hall at New York’s Carnegie Hall. Ennead’s additional Stanford projects include Mr. Olcott’s Cantor Center for Visual Arts, Stanford Law School William H. Neukom Building, and Anderson Collection at Stanford University set to open 2014.

The lead acoustician of Bing Concert Hall is Dr. Yasuhisa Toyota of Nagata Acoustics, a legend in his field whose projects include Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles, CA), and New World Symphony SoundSpace (Miami, FL).

Amenities & Access

Complementing the artistic experiences at Bing will be a suite of facilities and services designed to make the total performance experience as enjoyable as possible—from plentiful parking and customer-service areas to spacious restroom facilities, two refreshment areas, and a picturesque foyer that opens onto a lovely veranda. Wheelchair and companion seating is available at every ticket price level.
