INSECURE WEB BROWSER DETECTED!

If you have reached this page, your web browser is using one of the old, vulnerable encryption technologies, and you will not be able to access the alumni and donor sites (alumni.stanford.edu or makeagift.stanford.edu) until you upgrade your browser, or until you switch to a browser that supports the latest encryption technology (TLS version 1.2).

The Stanford University alumni and donor sites (alumni.stanford.edu and makeagift.stanford.edu) have recently had their web server security tightened, as recommended by all leading data security organizations, including the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC), the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST), the Financial Services Information Sharing Analysis Center (FS-ISAC), the Retail Solution Providers Association, the Hotel Technology Next Generation organization, the National Restaurant Association, and the Retail Industry Leaders Association.

The vulnerabilities of the previously used encryption technologies (SSL and early TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1) are serious and put organizations at risk of being breached. Because Stanford University takes protection of alumni and donor accounts and information seriously, we have taken action to remove the vulnerable technologies from our websites, and use only TLS version 1.2, the "new normal" for highly secure websites.

As a result, some older and insecure web browser versions are now unable to access the alumni and donor websites.
